My Digital Artwork allows for the interactive composition of sound and music through the fusion of digital technology with sculpture and traditional instruments.
The Singing Ukelele is created using a broken Ukelele, an Arduino, a Wave Shield from Ladyada.net, LDR’s and other various circuitry.
An SD card holds the mp3′s and are changeable so that you can programme the LDR’s to play.. well anything.
The Honest Time is an interactive sculpture created for my MA Digital Media Art degree show. It is created using broken guitars, distance sensors, LED’s, speakers, arduino and Max/MSP.
When each guitar is approached, it triggers the LED’s and sound associated with that guitar. Each of the 5 guitars contain a layer of ambient music which can be composed and mixed depending on how the audience surround and interact with the sculpture.
